Course Description

Beacons are small devices that use Bluetooth® Low Energy to communicate with a consumer’s smartphone or tablet based on that shopper’s precise in-store location. With Business Insider predicting that $44 Billion in retail sales will be influenced by beacons in 2016 and 3.5 million beacons will be deployed in retail environments by 2018, this technology is creating a significant new opportunity for in-store shopper engagement.

    Rebecca is an experienced marketer who has spent over 15 years driving strategic growth through B2B and B2C campaigns, for
    companies ranging from venture-backed startups to leading corporate brands. Prior to joining Swirl, Rebecca was VP of Marketing
    and Channel Sales at EveryScape, where she motivated and trained 3,500 channel sales reps–resulting in 10,000+ sales to small
    business advertisers. She led global marketing for Myvu Corporation, a VC-backed consumer electronics company, where she
    oversaw all marketing initiatives for the myvu line of personal media viewers. Prior to Myvu, Rebecca managed GMC.com for digital
    marketing agency Digitas.Earlier in her career, Rebecca managed B2C advertising campaigns for Volkswagen of America and
    various hospitality clients during her tenure at advertising agencies Arnold Worldwide and DiZinno Thompson. Rebecca holds a
    bachelor’s degree in Public Policy Studies from Duke University.
