Course Description

Consumer communications platforms and promotional offers have become much more innovative and multifaceted. Concurrently, regulations associated with sweepstakes, contests and related consumer-marketing issues have become more complicated.

This course will cover the basic rules, regulations, and do’s and don’ts of consumer promotion activity.

Karen Jeffers, Member Pullman & Comley LLC and founder of Jeffers Cowherd PC, along with her colleague, Russell Anderson, will delve into thorny contemporary issues, such as text message promotions, how the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) can be involved in these types of promotions, limitations imposed by the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), and conducting promotions on social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.).
